extremely good gif editor required

from what you've described about using masks to modify dithering i'm hopeful i'll be able to figure things out in photoshop/imageready. i've never really done anything with gifs before so i'm just fumbling around in the dark - i know, i know, RTFM, i just didn't think there would be anything in it.

i'll have a look when i get home and go through imageready too - something i've never taken any notice of before.

thanks for that, Carol - certainly looks like there'll be something i can try.
