Spoiler
I also think he looks a lot like a duck.
It has been suggested that he is not from earth so i vote that he is a Space Bird Duck, the alien ancestor of all ducks+birds on planet earth.

i once asked cody what he was and you may well be right about him not being from this planet. i really couldn't understand his twittering but it sounded like he said he was related to the Dodo, well, to be precise, he said Doco (sound familiar? hint, hint). i could be wrong it - it was very windy at the time and i was having a great deal of trouble remaining perched on the branch so i wasn't paying too much attention.

I'm with tuckndar - I always think of Cody as a dove - even the coin in the mouth is sort of appropriate (as a proxy for an olive branch!).

Now there's a new twist, greed is good meets world peace.

Hell, all this time I thought Cody was a turducken. Darwin described such a species from the Beagle way back, no?

The boy's name Cody \c(o)-dy\, also used as girl's name Cody, is pronounced KOH-dee. It is of Irish and Gaelic origin, and its meaning is "descendant of Cuidightheach". Cuidightheach was originally a byname for a helpful person.

The name Cody is a baby boy name. The name Cody comes from the English origin. In English The meaning of the name Cody is: A cushion; Helpful.

Appropriate!
