Anyone know of a good File splitter app?

<< < (2/3) > >>

mouser:
i think we are now talking about files that have been split by someone else into just plain parts, *not* using winrar.

Carol Haynes:
Wouldn't "sticking parts together" be a pretty straight forward 'coding snack' project ?

mouser:
yes it would, but there are literally dozens of these apps already in existence, and they are all free.

here's an attractive looking one: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/gsplit.html

Carol Haynes:
Thanks GSplit looks pretty useful.

I use imaging software for system backup. I can produce lots of CD/DVD size lumps but often don't bother as I store images on a separate hard disk. GSplit is good for breaking up large images into CD/DVD size chunks for writing.

Now .... it is a shame it doesn't write direct to CDRW or DVDRW though .... (not so subtle hint ;))

mouser:
i store my drive images on a separate hd too, but i always break them up into dvd sized chunks just so i can burn them if i want.
