Hi I'm Hanan Finnerty and Ive submitted via email (I can't seem to access the anonymous ftp) a side scrolling action rpg platformer shooter (etc) adventure flash game that only uses one button to play

Since this is the initial entry (and Ive only had a few days so far to work on it  :tellme:) some areas you travel to will look better/have more stuff than others. Some minigames/levels are skipped but will be present in the final version.

Heres another site to view it from (But you have to register in the albinoblacksheep or gprime forums)
beta version

EDIT: Ive added some screenshots of the next version, where Magnopolis and Gethermia declare war and poor old Branston's stuck in the middle of the conflict

That would be very much appreciated thanks!  :)

I would love to get as much feedback as possible on the game

I can't get to your game from that link. Maybe I'm just dumb since Mouser figured it out. . .

After playing this to the end I have to say I was blown away.
Despite the "non-professional" graphics, it has real personality, humour, and an epic vision, and you can just feel the love that went into this :)  I laughed a lot too.  ;D

I honestly felt like I was watching the first game of someone who went on to develop for nintendo or something..

You should be really proud of this.  Really amazing.

I uploaded it here for others to download more easily:

Wow. Quite a robust game! I have to admit that the graphics led me to believe this wouldn't be a good game, but that just reinforces the idea that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Nor a game by its graphics!

I was really surprised at how you handled one button to make Branston move and interact with items. It's really quite clever!

I noticed a little bug: In the desert town with the gambling place, there is a building next to it with a big blue "i" which I presume stands for information. When I go in that building it takes me into the casino!

Very nice beginnings of a game!

I'm totally blown away by this!  I'm impressed with the clever control of Branston and the amount of interactivity available! I haven't finished it yet, but I will for sure! Congratulations on a well-deserved first place.
Regards,

I just love the personality and fun of it...

My favorite funny background graphics moment (spolier alert):
Spoiler
There is a level where you are in a town and you pass a fruit stand selling fruit for like $1.  Later on you pass a similar stand selling "good fruit" for like $5.  haahahaha that just cracked me up.

My 9-year old daughter played your game:

"In the caverns with the secret cult the strange creature that flips round is too fast!
It was a bit hard on the ostrich jumping the gaps.
but I think it was brill. Loved the drawings too."

I played it too (of course). Loved the scale and style of the game. Felt a bit like a mini Shenmue experience for one-switch. I can't wait to see the polished up finished version. Keep working on this, as this is one of the best one-switch games available. Congratulations!

This is one darn good game! And I think the cheesy graphics add to it's charm. I love it!  :-*

I did find a bug almost as soon as I started playing it though. (that's to be expected if I run something...I always find a bug in everything)  :-[

In the first house he can enter, if you go past the guy he talks to, and keep going, Branston suddenly rises up into the air, goes over the wall into a dark abyss and is never heard from again. (you have to reload the game)  :(
