Thanks Masu, but  in fact, i've just seen that there is a problem with the highlight of that .png.. :-/
Anyways, that is only a preview. Here, you have the rest of the icons.

Do i need v2 to change the icon, right?

Could the "F" key be confusing to the uninitiated?

My opinion is that the best looking icon right now is nudone's 'f'. Farmsteader might have a point about the 'f' key confusing people, though.
As for problems with windows colours, the F key icon doesn't have any problem with me and i use a white skin in windows.
I also like tuckndar's purple running man, and it has the advantage of being similar to the previous icon.
If we're looking for something along the lines of white on blue, i think hamradio's blue man might be the best option.

As for going back to the previous icon, i think that'd be a waste of very good artwork here.

Is there some way of incorporating a "robot" motif to this.  I'm persuaded the "robot that finds someting" part of the presentation is very important to icon=name=function association.

The letter "F" hmmm....   Is there something else that could be used instead?

instead of having the letter 'F', why not have something like ? or ! or = or perhaps the most original idea would be the carriage return symbol (i know '?' is used with outpost firewall).

I'm far from a power user of FARR, but I agree with farmsteader about the robot that finds something.  It is a real "branding" that perfectly expresses function.  It's so unique.  I'd really love to have it stay the default -- even if it could go with some graphic spiffing up.

Thanks all for your kind comments, i didn't expect such reaction. And above all thanks to mouser for HIS great design. I'll be glad to try v2

@Farmsteader
Yeah, i can add whatever you like. It's a .psd and all are paths/shapes, so it will be no problem, even i can change the color if you want. Later today, if i have some spare time, i will try to add the robot. But i think that for the 16x16 version i'll need to do some pixel work. And if someobody is interested, i can upload the .psd too. And you are right about the "clarity" of the 16 version. Is that why i wanted the program for, in order to see it "in action".

Do you like the shape? I can turn it back to a circle shape if you want. I made it that way to give it a bit of distinction. I like tray icons which have different shapes. It's easier to identify them.

(I'm not an english speaker, so forgive my typographic/ortographic/gramatic mistakes)

dclagoa: If you'd like to test how your icon looks in the tray, here's a small script to do it.
Attached to this post is a .exe file with the following ahk code compiled:
If you'd like, you can download ahk from www.autohotkeys.com and run the code, instead of using the .exe version i have attached to this post.

Anyways, what this script does is set it's tray icon to the icon in it's directory named "icon.ico". So, just place your icon in the same dir as ShowIcon.exe and run ShowIcon.exe and you're icon will appear in the tray area. To make it go away, just right-click it and select "exit".

Nice icons, everyone. If mouser has implemented the ability to choose from a group of icons, it could also add some other option for choosing an external icon. Then, all we need is a icon pack, and everything will be fine, and look better than ever.

By the way, those skins look really good.

dclagoa's icon has been added to the latest version (not uploaded yet).  I debated with myself whether i should have just let user load any icon from file.. perhaps i should have gone that way but right now user can just choose from build in list.

Hi everybody,

@Farmsteader
When in my reply i said "you" i meant "you all = everybody". I was trying to say that it's easy for me to change the icon so i'm open to suggestions from everybody. And in fact yours was a good suggestion. I've realized that the robot is something distinctive, and it should be in the icon. Or at least a modification of the robot. The robot ist clearer or easier to recognize as the FARR icon that the F at least, for users of the previous versions.
And thank you for your ideas/critiques. In fact i made the icon because i was messing with photoshop making another thing when i read this post. So i hadn't exactly an idea, i was just playing. Unfortunately, right now, something came up, but when i have some time, it would be nice to have ideas or directions to play with. And of course, if i could make an icon that appeal to other users it would be cooler smiley

@jgpaiva
Thank you so much for the script!, it'll make my job much easier. cheesy

@mouser
Thanks for adding my icon, and for adding me to the beta (or alpha) testing smiley

Ok, here's the robot version.
I've also attached a purple version to see how it would look in another color.
Enjoy smiley

Nice!  How about a more distinct shape and with less shine?  Since it is tiny I'm not sure the curl at the top would be distinct.  Still nice, though.

Beautiful, dclagoa. I agree with Farmsteader though, that at 16x16 the Robot could be more distinct with a little less glare.

I'd definitely go for this as default Wink

Ok, but with less flare it would look like less web 2.0 Sad.... just kidding  cheesy
I removed the highlight made the drop "pointyer" or more accute and darkened the drop, here are some color variations (the colors are just for testing/showing) The fisrt one is another variation of the drop's shape. If somebody want an specific color, feel free to tell me. Also if somebody wants the .psd i can send it.
Btw, mouser i like the robot-drop name for the icon.
Thanks all for your comments, i really appreciate them.
