CPU Utilization Alerter ?

(1/2) > >>

222fbj:
Hi all,
Does anyone know of a tool to monitor CPU utilization in the following (or similar) manner...
   - I enter a value (e.g., 10%)
   - When a process exceeds this value, the name of the process appears (preferably near the systray).

Since utilization could go up/down quickly...maybe it would not display when utization time (over 10%) was less than 1 second or whatever makes sense.

This methodology is basically what I do now by watching a bargraph displayed by TinyResMeter - when I notice CPU utilization is unexpectedly high - I open Task Manager to find the source.  I think it t would be more convenient to just see the process name.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Barrett

Well... If you have trouble with some processes taking too much memory, maybe you should look at mouser's process tammer. Might be the solution for your problems, and it'd make you not need to monitor the processes yourself ;)

May be Usage Monitor http://www.veign.com/download_app.asp?app=110.

I think some Samurize scripts can do this as well.

It does exactly what he is asking for.

Thanx for posting a link!

And you say that just as I realize it does not, heh. No cpu monitoring or Im blind. I was thinking of Dtaskmanager http://dimio.altervista.org/eng/, may be. Seems he speak of the feature in a computer translated readme.txt, cant really find it in program.

System Eye then. http://www.globalclipboard.com/systemeye/screenshots.php#settings Use Event editor to open taskmanger or whatever.

I guess you have Process Explorer http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/processexplorer.mspx
