If you have never taken a test like this before, you may find the results very interesting.

http://www.eggheadca...icles/mb/default.asp

It's just 69 questions with 2 answer choices each.

I am an ENFP - The Visionary.

Actors, journalists, writers, musicians, painters, consultants, psychologists, psychiatrists, entrepeneurs, teachers, counselers, politicans, diplomats, television reporters, marketers, scientists, sales representatives, artists, clergy, public relations, social scientists, social workers.. Very creative and fun-loving, they excel at careers which allow them to express their ideas and spontaneity.

This type is found in only about 5 percent of the general population, but they have great influence because of their extraordinary impact on others.

I came out as INTJ, a lot of the profile didn't seem to fit. The profile by David Keirsy seemed to fit a lot better, but also seemed to contradict a number of the things in the first profile for my personality results.

On the test page it says that INTJ makes up about 3.8% of the population, but David Keirsy says INTJs are less than 1% of the population.

It's possible that the percentages on the results page are dynamic and based on the people that have taken the test on that site. I don't know.

I've been identified as an ESTP by several tests. This test also categorized me as an ESTP.

I took this test a couple of times before and it always says I’m INTJ, which according to the description is quite accurate.

I got INTP and given that it is the only result which mentions Mathematician as a recommended career (ignoring Math teacher from ISTJ which isn't quite the same thing) I would have to say that is an accurate result.

in both those sites I came up as an ISTP (so I should be a race car driver, a pilot, or a legal secretary...)

out of curiosity I asked a work colleague and she said she hadn't realised I had a personality...

WOW!

I have the feeling that the guys that made the test know me personally! :)

I find that the result is exactly matching me. And not as usual with such tests "some match, some not". I only fine one single fact i disagree with. That i love antique things. But its true that i hate "hype" or "fashioned" things, and YES i don't own an IPHONE or IPOD yet, even if everyone else do. PERIOD! :)

Ah, forgot, my personality is:

Your Type is ISTJ
Strength of the preferences %
Introverted 11
Sensing 1
Thinking 62
Judging 67

Grettings to all
ISTJ errr. JoTo :)

I think many of the questions aren't suitable for simple yes/no answers - much like political polls and moral/ethical questions we all face in life.  I prefer a format where you can assign weights to your answers.

agreed -- i could have gone either way on many.

and the actual label seems less useful than the percentage breakdown.

Just because the first test I had linked to didn't give percentages (that I can remember) I took it again with the link mouser provided:

I've taken this test several times over the years. First time was via a heavy duty "clinical" version when my GF was getting her Master's degree in psych. (I got drafted to be a guinea pig in her "testing" course.) Interestingly enough, each subsequent time I took it - in one form or another - it always came out pretty much the same.

So...does that mean these guys are really onto something?  :tellme:

Or do I just have a good story that I'm sticking to? ;D

There seems to be a bit of a pattern emerging here  ;D

Most coders I know are INTJ's.

If you stick an INTJ coder in the same room with an ENFP coder, this is what happens:

The ENFP loves brainstorming, sees the big picture, and will have the project planned out through v3, before any work even begins on v1. If the ENFP isn't careful, they might scare the INTJ and cause them to hide under the desk till the brainstorming session is over and it's "safe" to come out again.

The INTJ will do most of the difficult coding, with the ENFP doing the boring stuff the INTJ really doesn't want to bother with.

When the INTJ starts doing work on the GUI, the ENFP that can sometimes seem like they are capable of reading minds, only because they are good at understanding how people think, will notice the flaws in the design and how it isn't "mentally ergonomic".

All of the "idiot proofing" will be the work of the ENFP, because the INTJ doesn't understand and can't be bothered with idiots.

When it is time to write the help file/documentation, the ENFP will most likely write that because if the INTJ does it, only other INTJ's will understand how to use the application. If the ENFP does it, then your grandmother will know how to use it. Besides, INTJ's hate writing documentation, and ENFP's don't mind, in fact, they rather like it.

sometimes I think there's a distinct lack of ENFP's in the software world - working on GUI's at any rate . .
It's an area I'd like to be involved in myself
but apart from not being a coder, I dont qualify - I got ENFJ

sometimes I think there's a distinct lack of ENFP's in the software world - working on GUI's at any rate . .

That's because normally ENFP's aren't regarded as being cut out for developing software, and there aren't many in the world to begin with, to work in any profession. I think the majority of ENFP's are attracted to professions like psychology and social work, where that "mind reading" ability really sets them apart and makes them shine.
