The main thing that attracted me to Clipboard Help+Spell was its spelling feature.  Therefore, it would be desirable if "spell" was somehow included in the name, such as with a name like ClipNspell.

Likewise for me superticker: spelling is key IMO. There really are a ton of other clipboard extending apps out there, but few of them deal with spelling.

Why not combine this program "Clipboard Help+Spell" and "The Form Letter Machine" to one new program for Clipboard control and for write text blocks. New name for the new program.... Clip and Write. I have a prgram what does that, but special in TFLM are now functions  what makes it better, and I belief it will be much better.

The other commercial program.

If you are still looking to change the name maybe go for PasteVault. No google hits, unlike InfoVault, and the fact that you're copying and pasting information in and out of a vault / safe like container. Or even TextVault

Most companies when developing new products and software give them "project names", like longhorn for vista.
Why not just give it a project name until one comes to you?
Like "SkyClip" or "LightingClip" or something.

How about MouseTrap? It's late, the beer's cold... I couldn't help myself. I'll be embarrassed in the morning because I'll not be able to remember why in the h-e-double hockey sticks this was cute/relevant. Oh wait. Crap, I've already forgotten. Move along people, nothing to see here. Keep moving...

Cliptographer

I like vegas' ClipNotes -- sounds like everyone's favorite student resource, Cliff Notes.

iClip -- suck up to the Apple crowd.

Clipboard Enhancement Utility for Windows -- If Microsoft named it.  Make sure you compile six different versions, five of which are guaranteed not to install on whatever Windows you actually use.  Include Alpha support.

ClipClop -- Appeal to the equine enthusiast.

Dr.Clip -- Putting "Dr." in front of a name is soooo 80's.

eClips -- Putting "e" in front is soooo 90's, but actually the riff on "eclipse" is kinda cool.

Cliposaurus Maximus -- My personal favorite, but I bet nobody else will like it. *sob*

I have decided on a new name:

"Clipberd Helpe an spel"

 ;D

I'm afraid we are stuck with the original name at this point since it's been so long, but i've learned my lesson and won't be naming programs anymore without getting advice first.

"Clipboard Help and Spell"... I tried to think of what I might call it if I never had heard of it and for the life of me nothing seems better.  One wild stab in the dark could be...

 "ClipNote Spell Assistant."

Like I said, not really the next marketing paradigm.  :-[

I agree with CodeTrucker, actually. I don't have a problem with the name of any of Mouser's applciations. Clipboard Help and Spell is descriptive and rolls off the tongue easlily enough. What more can we ask?

You could always keep the name and change it too.

How about CHASTE?

Clipboard Help And Spell (Text, Everything).   :)

I am pretty sure you are flogging a dead horse at this point.  Doubt Mouser will be changing the name of this program now (though I say its never too late, I think it should be changed asap!).

I think people are just responding for a bit of fun....
Mouser has said twice now that he isn't changing the name from CHS

It would probably be a better idea to come up with new wordings for CHS, the funnier the better
And at the very least this thread will come up in search results so it doesn't really hurt anything
