hmm

I find Pavlinas stuff (what I've read) sometimes helpful, sometimes agravating -
I think (scratch that - I know) he's a very different person to me and his advice just doesn't work sometimes, or I don't (want to) subscribe to it.

But, on the other hand, this guy (link above - "Daldianius") seems to have a large chip on his shoulder.
He's one of these people who believes: if it can't be proven, it's not true.
Claims that Pavlina would belong to those that believe:
I say:The Law of Attraction/Nessy/the aliens/the angels don't exist as long as their existences have not been proven.
They would say: They exist as long as their inexistence have not been proven.

I dunno,
I haven't read enough Pavlina to say,
but neither view seems attractive to me ..

must go checkout the forum now  :)

Hi folks:)
I'm one of those who says:if it can't be proven, then we cannot know it is true or untrue. Therefore, having no evidence that it is true, we say it is untrue.
This is one of those "Does God exist?" kinds of issues. I like Ayn Rand's focus on existence, on sensory evidence, as the beginning of all our knowledge. Thus to say that there is Someone behind the scenes, not available to the senses, is to open oneself up to the question: And how do you know "that?"  You can't know it, since there is no evidence. Thus, the question "Does God exist?" always ends up in "No," presuming that our questions and answers begin with reality, that is, our sensual evidence.
   Any thoughts, folks?
best wishes,
Mike

i know that fairies live at the bottom of my garden - i admit i've not seen them but my grandmother told me that they live there and i know that she would never lie to me. i'm 100% sure that one day i will see one of these fairies. you'd think there would be some evidence left by them that would make it obvious but i've never seen anything - they must be very careful about hiding their tracks.

i better say no more. the 'mighty zargon' is communicating with me via telepathy from the planet 'xxxx00xxxx01' (well, i think that's where he said he's from).
