IDEA: Remember Folder Setting (Windows 2000)

Windows have a feature that will make Explorer remember the folder settings, but at least my Windows 2000 will not remember all the settings the way I want them to be, only some of them. Whenever I open, say, ControlPanel, it will open in Details:

- but i want it to display Large Icons.

I believe I have tried every combination, using Folder Settings, but none will remember all settings, only some of them.

BUT IF you would make some sort of DLL to add the feature to right-click-in-folder or add to Expplorer Toolbar Drop-down Menu; Show / Display (or what? I am not familiar with the English terms), giving the choice to click "Remember This Folder Setting" - or something.

a better solution might be to install an alternative file explorer like:
directory opus
xyplorer
xplorer^2
etc.

Yes, "a better solution", I believe, but "the IDEA of this section is for users to try to come up with ideas for very simple programs that can be coded in a few hours"...

Do you shoot sparrows with cannons?
