Want to get rid of your bad habbits?
(1/1)
KenR:
Here's a cool site that discusses habbits and how to get rid of them. The site also discusses Prochaska's and DiClemente's important Stages of Change, making the site worth a look just for that!
We all have habits---some good; some bad. What qualifies as a habit? It is a routine practice that is done in the same way for the same reason, over and over again. A habit becomes second nature and is intrinsically neither good nor bad. When a habit is negative, it hinders or harms and when a habit is positive, it fosters health, self-esteem, and interpersonal relationships...

Hi Ken:)
Depending on the nature of the habit, I'd say that Dr. Blume's method *only* works when the habit hasn't spread out among other habits and doesn't involve repression. I far more comprehensive approach (that I have proven upon my self) is to be found in "Self-Creation" by Dr. George Weinberg. Unfortunately the book is out of print, however, it is available from www.campusi.com or amazon. I like the campusi site because they check out 100 different booksellers to give you the best price. Usually I save about 20% over amazon!
best always,
Mike
