Wonder if anyone else saw that PSpad now has true wordwrap... at least according to their history. I dont use the program, but I know it was a subject of much debate!  I also would like to point out that, contrary to the review, NotePad2 does have column selection.  Hold down alt and select.

newest pspad history from the release of 6/18/05 says this about wordwrap (http://www.pspad.com/en/whatsnew.htm):

"New variable WordWrapEnabled in [special settings] section. Default state is 0 - wordwrap is disabled. If you want actual buggy wordwrap, you must enable it. "

Hmm.. it sounds like rather than fix the word wrap feature, they just added a variable to make it harder to enable the existing buggy word wrap  :o

if anyone knows different let me know.

i'll correct the notepad2 column select info.

I checked out the link mouser, and it appears you're right... for version 4.3.3.3.3.3.3 (ad nauseum).  However, if you go to Betanews and look at version 4.5 (http://fileforum.bet..._editor/1076948037/1) it appears slightly different.  As I said above, i dont know for certain since I dont use it, but according to Betanews, it's fixed.  Thanks though for the clarification... I didnt actually check out the PSPad website!

ah i see - excellent - so its a new beta release not listed in their history.
sounds very promising!!!
even if its not perfect now, at least it sounds like they are finally trying to fix it.

this is a big deal.

for anyone who didn't read our review, we basically thought that pspad would be the best free text editor on the planet, if only they had a non-f*cked word wrap.

will be a great day when they fix it.

It looks to me like PsPad word wrap works, works well, and might even have some useful tricks up its sleeve -
like a couple of different ways to show you the dif. between linebreaks caused by wordwraps or hard CRs.

i'd like some more feedback and then im going to update our text review to highly recommend PsPad again, if others confirm that wordwrap works well.

Yeah, word wrap works well now in 4.5, 'cus Jan (the Author)
wrotes his own routine for this.
Also he made PSPad ready for UNICODE editing and integrated a scripting feature.

Wordwrap bevor in 4.3.x cames from the editor base modul SynEdit.
