Do you have large fonts enabled?

I can't find the setting on XP, but on Win9x I used to have the same problem with many programs if I had large fonts enabled.

Sometimes an entire feature that was supposed to be there was missing.

Have you tried resizing the window? (I know it's obvious, but I have to ask)

I haven't been able to duplicate your problem here on my pc.

no, my settings are the normal 96dpi and resizing windows have no effect on the fonts..

Is it only GTalk that's doing this? Or rather, are you seeing anything else remotely weird in other apps?

Are you running any windows enhancements like WindowBlinds or anything like that?

Oh, and the obvious "fix" for all broken stuff: did you try uninstalling and re-installing it? :)

actually other programs are running well and after several re-installs. i've decided to configure Miranda for Google Talk, eventhough i had to forego the PC-to-PC phone.. :(
