PCMag Security Suite Reviews (Part 1)
« on: October 18, 2006, 04:36 PM »
Looks quite comprehensive with a lot of useful info about the new editions emerging for 2007

Some surprises ... in particular Symantec seem to be changing a bit by making some modules optional (eg. antispam which is crap anyway) but also making the standard modules more effective and less system heavy though McAfee are rated quite badly. Kapersky and ZoneAlarm seem to be rated well.

Also, note that the Kaspersky suite is available as a AOL-branded product and is available for free! Even if you aren't an AOL user. I've been using it for about three weeks now.

An interesting overview on the first page. I didn't delve too much into the reviews, but they look fairly complete, which is nice. I'm glad to hear Norton is slimming down a bit too. But I'll still continue to recommend against it for some time.

tinjaw, is what you linked to the actual Kaspersky *suite*, or just the A/V product? I though the latter.

If you go to the link it is just an AntiVirus product.

You sound happy with it - no problems with spam ?
