FileBox Extender 1.91.02 - Now FREE!

Jibz:
From http://www.hyperionics.com/

After a great deal of development work we have sadly concluded that it is not practical to adapt FileBox eXtender to work under Window Vista – the architecture is simply too different. By way of apology to customers who were hoping for an upgrade path we are offering anyone who purchased a license for Filebox eXtender after Dec. 31, 2005 a choice of a license swap for another of our products (either for yourself or as a gift for a friend), or a refund of your purchase price. To claim, simply email us a copy of your license key, together with your full name, company name (if any), email and postal address at the time of your purchase.

It is now a freeware - free to use by everyone.

its interesting to hear that vista is going to cause trouble for these types of apps.
and it's also quite cool to hear that hyperionics is doing that for owners all the way back to dec 2005.
sounds like pretty cool company.

This is sad news . . . I'd grown quite fond of the app.  My other favorite, File-Ex, hasn't been updated in a long time either. Wonder if they're calling it quits for vista as well.  I hate when software I love dies.

KenR:
Well, Direct Folders is still alive and being discussed here currently. You might consider evaluating this program, particularly since they have just released a major new revision that improves significantly on the previous one. Read this thread for additional information on Direct Folders.

Thus far, I really don't care for DF - I'm unable to find any keyboard friendliness at all -- the one simplistic, mouse-required menu isn't really exciting me :)
