Article at: http://www.vnunet.co...-hd-dvd-blu-ray-same

Basically they have patented a format that can hold both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD on one side of the disc and a standard DVD format on the flip side.

Sounds like a sensible idea to overcome the format wars and to help people know that if the format they support becomes obsolete then their collection isn't ! Plus if people don't want to upgrade no then in the future they will already have the new formats and so don't have to start replacing their library again.

Exactly! However, will the players follow suit, or will it matter since Blu-Ray can't seem to deliver anything (yet)?

Sounds like a good concept, but it will probably end up being like PSP's UMDs. More expensive and basically unused.
