V2 request for fixed launches

(1/2) > >>

Cosafina:
I adore my FARR, but one thing I'd really like to see:
I have about 10 programs that I use more than any other on my PC, and which I use FARR to launch.  Trouble is, every time I launch one of them they move up in the pecking order, so whenever I want to launch I have to take my eyes off whatever else I'm doing and hunt for the program I want in the list.   >:(
So... what I'd really like would be the ability to assign fixed numbers to my favourite programs, so that to launch one of them all I had to do was hit Pause/Break followed by the corresponding number without first having to look and see what number that was.  Although I don't use Word or Excel, an example would be that I could assign 1 as the fixed launch number for Excel and 2 as the fixed launch number for Word.
I'd then be quite happy for less frequently used programs to be appended to the bottom of the list.
Maybe this feature is already available, but if it is I haven't yet figured out how to do it!
Thanks, and keep up the great work.

you can create a custom alias group, which will always display a specific menu of programs in a specific order always.
like you could call the alias group "apps", and then when you type apps, up will come your predefined list.

however, i keep meaning to add the ability to let you specify an alias group to display by default when window is brought up.  i'm working on a minor update to farr and im adding that to my todo list since its easy and i've been meaning to add it for a while.

you can also use windows shortcut key, create a shortcut of your fav progs, then right click on it and go to properties, enter the shortcut key.

mouser:
a new feature has been added to the latest beta, where you can specify a specific alias to show on startup.
now you can create an alias group (menu) with exactly the files you want (and you can even custom name them), which will show on startup each time.

nontroppo:
cool feature!
