Perhaps it's fitting that as the C++ Builder contest is drawing to a close, Gothic and I were reminscing about programming in the "old days" of Borland's turbo pascal and turbo C and of console mode programs using the ibm pc's ascii character set which seemed designed with gamers in mind, and I stumbled across this nice collection of old Borland software:
