Corrupted *.mcf file
« on: August 10, 2006, 08:58 PM »
yesterday my pc crashed & upon restart, LC wouldn't appear eventhough it was taking up CPU usage upto 90%. since it seems that my user files have corrupted, i moved the *.mcf and *.mcp files to another folder. after which LC appeared with no problems, asking me to configure the docks. so, my questions:

1. is it possible to repair the corrupted files?
2. if it's not possible, can there be an option to auto-backup these files?

send me the mcp and mcf file and i will try to fix.
there is a backup tool in the menu, but as you say it's not automatic.  i agree that that it should be automatic.
i will also add code to prevent the possibility of it saving a bad file.

see if its just the mcp file which just holds the name of the last loaded node files that was corrupted, by trying to open the mcf file now in your new project file.

yes, i tried opening the last mcf (the one that is corrupted) but then it doesn't work as LC goes into a cpu-cycle consuming frenzy and i had to kill it...
