sorry bad english and Delphi are my hobby ;)
politeness is not one of my strengths in writing, just because it sounds rough doesn't mean that I mean it rough.

Many thanks for your quick response.

Reviews of suggested software are mixed!  It requires registering from smartphone.

Ideally, registering and using from PC rather than smartphone involvement.

It's very unlikely you will find what you are asking in your last sentence, unless you are talking about mirroring the smartphone screen onto a PC , because otherwise smartphone permissions don't really work that way.

You can try Google Voice (google.com/voice) to see if it meets your needs.

Microsoft has software to allow just that. It's called "Your Phone."

And yes, you need to link it to your phone using an app on your phone, but after that you should be able to text from your PC.

But if you don't have a phone and just want to send SMS messages to people using your PC, then I second Google Voice as an option.

I have looked at Google Voice, and that appears to do the trick.  Thanks!

I didn't post that as he didn't want to link to his phone.  But I love it since discovering it!
