Dear Brothers & Sisters,

I am a newbie here and would like to say hi.

I have a small Delphi Terrain Engine that I would like ported over to C++ Builder.

I was wondering if anyone would like to help out on this ?

The original author is no longer contactable, sorry to say.

It is a very very nice and beautiful engine and it is also highly optimized for today's graphics card.

I was wondering if anyone here would like to lend a hand on this hobby project ?

I have tried numerious times spending over weeks on it but to no avail.

Most of my conversion just wont run or it runs but nothing happens.

As I do not know Delphi or Borland's product and libraries, I am stuck.

If any kind Bro or Sis would like to take a look at this for me, please email me at :-

[email protected]

And I will send you the whole engine, the .exe file and the whole source code.

It is a very compact and small engine.

It it most definately not say 10,000 lines long.

It is about 1 to 2 thousand lines long in easy delphi code.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Best and Warmest Regards

God Bless

If you would like to try this yourself, this page will be a big help to you:

Converting from Delphi to C++Builder

I have followed this guide to convert a small project from Delphi to C++ Builder...without knowing any C++.

It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but my project was kind of small & simple. Most of it is just a matter of using a lot of Find & Replace. Just be careful, follow the steps in order (very important), take your time, and if you get stuck on anything thing, Google is your best friend.

Additionally, you can find some Delphi & C++ Builder references on my ebook site:

Dear Sir,

Thank you so much for your quick reply.

I have been to many Sites on the internet to search for help.

But at the moment I am stuck on some areas.

Perhaps I can send what I have done so far to anyone who would like to help and maybe he/she can be free enough to take a look ?

 :)

And Yes, before I came here to post, I have actually put in literally dozens of hours of work on this.

I hope by my posting for help, I do not annoy or make anyone angry ...

Thank you

God Bless

What is your c++ Builder version?
Does the engine comes with delphi source codes and what is the Delphi version of the source code? If yes, post the engine with source codes here and i will try to make a package for you to use with C++ Builder 2006. (I will not change the source codes to C++ Builder language)
