i've seen them swimming around in pairs. i don't think they'd be too happy that one of their kind is being sold on ebay.

Fins on head? ribs? nose holes? only one dorsal fin on one side? A pelvis? a neck and shoulders?

Nothing in here makes evolutionary sense. Even for an alien evolutionary theory. This looks like the work of human imagination (we are not that good at imagining really original monsters, most of the time we cut and paste pieces of living creatures).

Why do most pics of aliens have 2 eyes, hands, etc? There is no reason to believe that an intelligent enough lifeform evolved anywhere outside earth will come to those solutions.

I think this is a fake.

Clearly a fake from looking at the pictures. If you read to Q&A's the finder claims its covered in real fish scales which of course makes no sense given that it swims like a mammal. Also the lack of an anus means it msut be as full of s**t (sorry for my language) as its seller :D .

possibly inspired by the 'alien autopsy' from a few years ago?

i think the most incredible thing is the winning bid - just over $1500, plus postage.

if this is the sort of thing that is selling on ebay, and at that price, then i need to get in the shed and start knocking a few 'dead' monsters together.

Even if it is real (and I can say with full confidence that it isn't), it's not a mermaid. It's a merman.

id say anyone who thinks this has even the slightest miniscule chance of being real should go for counseling from a Reality Therapist immediately.
