ok, they can end the show now, those guys are the winners. I have never seen anything like that before. The ending was absolutely amazing with him throwing the confetti looking stuff on top of her. WOW!

I believe it's all done with holograms.  The only time a real person was on stage was at the beginning and at the end.

I recently saw a wonderful dance concert where the couple danced with each other, the with themselves, and also with other people who looked just like them, in and out of doors, curtains, etc..  Every once in a while, you could make out the real person among the holograms.  As long as the real people stand and move in designated spots, the pre-recorded images look like they are on stage, but aren't, and it all works out.  It may be technologically and artistically sophisticated, but it's not magic.
When you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning - Catherine Aird

holograms, lol.  i don't think so.
i think its some carefully engineered clothing and those special sheets have the clothing sewn in so you can just slip into them.

I don't have any audio at the library so I didn't hear anything, but that woman judge looked stupefied the whole way through!

I agree with nudone. Time Machine.

Ha! That's great, even with no audio! So funny when he realizes he's turned black and starts dancing and stuff.

I saw a magician do a similar (1 change only) trick at Comdex '89.
Side note: Comdex used to be really cool... do they even have it anymore?
Also:  That was last century... eek!

She was about 3 feet away, and I didn't see the change happen!  No hoops either.  She just jumped off a 4" platform and landed with a new dress.  I was able to see that the dress was 2 colors and was designed in some way to release at the shock, fold over itself and change.  Pretty cool even it you know how it's done.

All of that still doesn't explain what they did in this video.  Cool Stuff.

I have looked at this a few more times and shown it to other people as well and I think I am starting to understand how they did it. It's all about special clothing. :D For the most part I think they focus on clothes that you can just hang on the body from the shoulders or similar. It's obviously not *just* that or they'd look weird, but I think that's a big part of it. They can just release the catches or whatever and they fall to the ground. They also use layered clothing so if they start with 2 dresses on (for example), all they need to do is drop one to reveal the other, and it's very quick. I think they also use very stretchy clothes so they can just wiggle into them very quickly.

At the end with the confetti, generally the coolest and most amazing part, you can actually see her position her hands apparently to release something at her shoulders and drop the garment to the ground, revealing another. Also when she's walking with the hoop and her dress changes *while she's walking*, you can see it drop down over the one she is wearing. The timing is done really well so that's the real talent, plus the design of the garments. It's all about timing really.

yeah - there's also some weird stuff going on that i don't understand the implications of - check out her feet in some of those switches where she is being wrapper in cloth - she seems awfully carefull about where her feet go..

I think that was just to anchor the cloth so that it didn't flap and reveal the change - but maybe I am naive ;)

Personally I don't really care how they did it - it was such a brilliant performance.

well, i confess my timemachine theory was just a joke - only the US military have got timemachines - or so a friend of mine tells me.

the quick clothes changes are obviously done by the means of using trapdoors in the stage - when you can see a head or an arm or leg poking out from behind something it is clearly a prop on the end of a stick or something. anyway, the trap door opens and her twin jumps out as she falls through the hole - they then just keep swapping around.

...and if it is, I want to marry her - finally a woman NOT spending an hour on "quickly changing" her outfit! :-*

You mean the kind of we-need-more-close-up-shots-of-her-ass-goddammit!!-magic? :D

Reminds me of "the only difference between salad and garbage is timing!" ;)

I can put on my clothes *really* slowly.  It might not count for much, but at least I'm not wearing ruffles.  ;D

I think there must be a clue at 57 seconds (check the straps on her dress), but I can't figure it out..
