Code-It is now also writing for Linux
« on: October 28, 2017, 05:18 PM »
Beginning from 2010 I have mentioned Code-It a couple of times, first on https://www.donation....msg213723#msg213723 He ("MikeB") makes software for Windows and sells it suspiciously cheap! Now he is writing for Linux as well; I guess he likes their philosophy on pricing...

For those of you that might be interested -
I have released several new Linux software apps today.
Take a look at http://www.code-it.com/tux.html

Thanks for your continued support and have a GREAT weekend,
mikeB

I just checked this out, and it looks like he's gone totally Linux because Windows and the Anti-Virus industry has been giving him too many headaches.  From the main page:
I'M SADDEN, BUT PLEASED AT THE SAME TIME , TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE'RE NO LONGER OFFERING WINDOWS SOFTWARE - WE'VE MOVED ON TO LINUX SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT.

To our past loyal customers - we've got a lot of explaining to do - and here it is...
http://www.code-it.com

I wish him well in the endeavor, and according to his software page: http://www.code-it.com/software.htm he's looking to fill niches that current Open Source projects aren't exactly filling; in other words, it sounds like he's doing it for users, not for himself.  Which is HIGHLY unusual in the Linux community to start that way; most projects start as a personal "itch to scratch" before they go on to be big user-driven projects.  Also mentions he's using the GAMBAS IDE, which (for better or worse) is a fairly decent replacement for Visual Basic.
Looks like everything is open-source for now, I'm curious to see how he does with paid-for software.
