Can DC member bail out Firefox via Waterfox ?

(1/1)

dantheman:
Firefox as most longtime users know has been going downhill for quite some time (cf. Dedoimedo's recent article).

The Waterfox Project seems to be the only viable alternative that bears the promise of maintaining the legacy add-ons which shall soon no longer be compatible with Firefox.

Many legacy devs have already abandonned ship and so, i was wondering if DC members could come to the rescue and help with the upkeep of these illustrious extensions or to even touch base with the add-on devs to let them know that we are people wanting to help them?

Just a thought.

It could be part of a N.A.N.Y. project.

Have you ever heard of Pale Moon?

dantheman:
@Tuxman - Palemoon is a decent browser, very fast just as Firefox should have always been.
But, have had various issues (other than the fact that i don't like their themes and selection of extensions).

Waterfox 55.0.2 just came out for Windows:

Sure, Waterfox may not be "open source" as Firefox (which imo is obtusely closed to core users wants and needs) and, if Waterfox fails, my fall back is going to be Vivaldi.
