If anyone is interested in helping me with Calculor, I would like to fix the conversion for unicode characters, but to do that I would need to reconstruct my dll that has scintilla in it.  A friend built the dll for me based on my needs, but we are out of communication now and I don't have the source code.  So, basically, if you wanted to help me with this, I would be asking you to help me build a new dll for my scintilla.

The next update will have a global hotkey; I'd publish it now, but I'm serving on a boys' camp.  When I get back I'll publish it.

Salve, all!  Okay, I've added a user-chosen global hotkey.  Maybe someone can try it out for me?

Salve, all!  Okay, I've added a user-chosen global hotkey.  Maybe someone can try it out for me?

Win.7 x64

right-clicking the tray icon shows:
Global Hotkey              Not set
=>
I clicking that a couple of times, in the hope I could change it, but nothing happens. Now calculor no longer responds to mouse input:
also unable to close via [x]
=>
I close it via tray:
on restarting is fine - I click on 'Global Hotkey' and the dialogue shows.
I set hotkey and it works fine.

Thanks for testing for me - I can reproduce that and I know what the problem is;  Hopefully I can get it fixed today.  I never thought to try selecting the option from the tray menu... (doh!).

tomos - there are two ways that I thought of as "normal"
First, if you right click on the main window, you get the entire menu (this is in the help file).
Second, and I don't think I mentioned this in the help file, in fact, if you type the word hotkey in calculor, it will launch the dialogue.
I'll update the help file, too.

^ I tend to work intuitively :-[ **

I did try a right-click, but only on the titlebar -- which of course was a waste of time. (I think I got disorientated cause the window is so small.)

** my intuitive approach can be helpful though finding bugs :-)

all methods present and working correctly in latest version (I did a fresh 'install' to test)

I love the 'type hotkey' method -- this is a very impressive piece of software :up:

edit// just in case: I'm off for a couple of weeks so will only be here occasionally the next while

Thanks for the kind words and for your time to test for me!  If you have any ideas for features just say so and I'll see what I can do.

Right now my only regret is that I can't fix the part that has to do with the conversion of unicode characters - and that's because I don't have the source files for the scintilla dll that supplies the syntax colouring. Another fellow helped me with that and we are out of touch now.  But if I ever figure it out, I'll fix it.

AFAICS, scintilla is OSS, so why can't you fetch the sources yourself and build that dll?

Great tool. I especially like the lightning fast start-up. :up:
Waiting for a calculator to come up when I need one quickly, that's one main reason I don't use other calculators more often.

It were nice if we could customize the font size (and row height accordingly) - to cater to different screen sizes/ resolutions, or if only to get this right-into-your-face look and feel.  8)
