Wow that's a weird game.  Kinda cool.  Pretty challenging.  Not sure of the final objective other than survive. :)

Rich from Pixeljam here.. Thanks for the review! Btw, the objective is to get the guys home from work safely. Their commute to & from work usually takes around 30-40 minutes.

the objective is to get the guys home from work safely!

they have to make that trip every day to work  :o

oh my that is one hazardous job  ;D ;D ;D

really amazing work you guys have done - you've both captured perfectly the retro feel of the best old school console games, while at the same time combining elements of different games and introducing your own novel stuff as well, to create a game that feels familiar but at the same time is clearly something new.  really brilliantly done

ps i made it up to those ships that can live in the dark antimatter of space and then emerge just long enough to shoot those horizontal rays of death and heat seaking missles.

it's fun when the friends arrive to help you:

yeah i got to the level with the powerful enemy ships that appear and dissapear into antimatter space and shoot out horizontal lines of fat lasers which do serious damage.

The screens look nifty - it's not too often you see hand-crafted pixel graphics in these days of 3D acceleration and geometric flash games.  :-*

EDIT:
Whoa, time flies (and I suck ;)):

score: 1311600
accuracy: 34%
enemy kills: 908/1088
total coins: 609
total gems: 12

Sorry f0dder... not taking the bait on this one.
*grin*

It got pretty damn difficult once those mega-beam ships appeared out of nowhere, and I lost my first ship (not the little guy, though). But it gets even worse later on >_<
