for me:

1)    97% coding for DC while sitting on IRC.
2)    1% reading rss feed while checking email.
3)    1% replying to stuff on the forums that sparked my intrest in the rss feed.
4)    1% checking latest posts to see if i missed something in the rss feed
5)    Back to 1.

I also sit around on the irc channel all day, but that's in paralel with the rest of the actions.
I guess you're right, most of the action revolves around the forum, i guess it's normal in a site with so much members.
