It doesn't.  You can turn off the adding of newly launched items to history from options, and you can right click on an item from search results to remove it from history.

I tell you what i could do.. I could add a right-click menu item to launch and not add to history, if that would help..

Nah, it would need to be something like Shift+Enter for me to be useful. Better spare yourself the trouble and use your time for something of broader interest.
