what3words

(1/1)

Target:
saw a reference to what3words in our work newsgroups today

seems like a really useful mapping/navigation/location tool, though it may struggle with some situations (multistory buildings for example)

EDIT:  I'm not associated with this tool in any way, nor am I recommending it for any given purpose.  It just seems like a pretty cool tool to me but YMMV

that is very cool
odd:
over sea is in English - anywhere on land (including the States) is in German.
Is that due to my location? But surely they dont have each location in various languages?
This one, for exapmle is somewhere in Nabraska:

Most likely.

Yes, but only English, Spanish, and Portuguese are not in beta.

As per Batch Conversion tool:

So I expect when German leaves beta you'll most likely get German words for everywhere.

thanks 4wd
so,
the locations must be translatable - either directly, or in the sense that if you look up my german three word location, you'll find it in your english lang app.

I finally bought a smartphone a couple of months ago but am still using an old-style 15 euro mobile (real buttons!) :-\
This is the kind of app that might prompt me to make the move.
