help with this url

ok folks, just recently got into url sniffing, i dont know if im doing it correctly or not, i seem to sniff an url with a m3u8 extension but have tried to play it in vlc but it wont play

any tips on what i need to do to the stream to make it viewable?

im in the uk but use a DNS, but also can use a US VPN if required as the site im trying to sniff is directv

It's because m3u type files are just a path to where the music is as in a playlist. You need links to the "actual" music, not a file that links to the music, if that makes sense. Hard to explain it, but that is not the type of file you want.
