Updated version of URL Fetcher / Real7ime after ver 1.1

(1/1)

palmerac:
Does anyone know if UCF, the author(s) of Real7ime Converter and URL Fetcher, have any plans to release an update beyond ver 1.1 that has been around for quite a while?  The URL Fetcher module is very handy and, in my opinion, URL Fetcher is much simpler to use than URL Snooper (URL Fetcher doesn't require configuration like URL Snooper does).  But the URL Fetcher that is bundled with Real7ime ver 1.1 does not work with the latest RealPlayer release, ver 10 -- presumably because the Real plugin upon which URL Fetcher relies has been renamed or otherwise changed. [Using the "Locate Path" button in URL Fetcher does NOT successfully locate the needed plugin when RealPlayer 10 is installed].  If anyone knows of a workaround that will allow URL Fetcher to work with RealPlayer 10, or if there is any news about a new release of Real7ime and URL Fetcher then please post a reply here.  Thanks!

mouser:
i remember that Real7ime tool, it was strange one but quite interesting and impressive.
have you posted this question on the streaming media recording forum (see link other post).
there have been other discussions about changed dll files names in the past and it might be possible to get it to work by changing some driver names, OR else making a local copy of the Real drivers in a separate directory for Real7ime to use (i think that might be your best bet), much in the way that the Real Alternative thing does (google will find you a link for that).

Let us know if you figure out a solution.

Comaprison of URL fetcher with URL snooper is just not possible. The reason - URL snooper sniffs each and every uRLK, while URL fetcher relies on the real media player to determine what media the real player is playing.

[B}And yes, it works fine on my real media 10 gold (not registered).[/B]
