Text/Research Book Request Thread

(1/1)

KynloStephen66515:
Hey guys,

Just thought I would start up a thread which focuses on Text Book/Research Book, Trade, Sale & Giveaways.  Basically, this will be a section where people can trade or sell, or give people books focused on specific study topics (Because, these things are stupidly expensive if bought from Amazon and places like that!!)

I will get started with the ones I am looking for:

* Brown, A. (1995) Organisational Culture, London, Pitman.
* Crace, J. (2000) ‘Feel at home with a job abroad’, Guardian, 14 October.
* Drennan, D. (1992) Transforming Company Culture, London, McGraw Hill.
* Hofstede, G. (1980) Culture's Consequences: International Differences in Work Related Values, London, Sage.
* Morgan, G. (1986) Images of Organization, Beverly Hills, CA, Sage.
* Schwartz, H. and Davis, S. (1981) ‘Matching corporate culture and business strategy’, Organizational Dynamics, Summer
* Trice, H. M. and Beyer, J. M. (1984) ‘Studying organizational cultures through rites and rituals’, Academy of Management Review, Vol. 9
If anybody has the above books and want to sell or give away, then please let me know! :D

If anybody has other requests or has something to sell/give away, then post them in this thread! :D

Amazon used books can be great bargains, but there are some specialized college book sites for getting cheap prices.. I don't know any off hand but i'm sure they are out there.

I found a few Ebay listings you might be interested in.

Transforming Company Culture GBP 0.99
Culture's Consequences US $32.95

Developers Of Chrome Extension That Finds Cheaper Textbook Prices Receives Legal Threats From Major Textbook Supplier

...

OccupyTheBookstore is a Chrome extension that allows users to find better prices on textbooks while browsing bookstore websites. Follett doesn't like this because the extension draws sales away from the stores it supplies. It sent a cease-and-desist request to the team behind the extension, asking (nicely, at this point) to knock it off or it will be "forced" to involve its legal team.

That could help.

Also, from the TechDirt article:

In an interview, [Texts.com founder Peter] Frank said that before today the tool had only been downloaded 200 times since it was first made available in April. By Friday evening, it had been downloaded 15,000 times.

All Follett had to do was leave it alone. Now, it's faced with a viral opponent and armed with little more than law firm letterhead.

Too funny!

(Should we have a "Streisand" thread? That could be fun!)

Your post was very timely! :D

But with the price of textbooks... sheesh... I get dizzy just looking at some of the prices.
