Not cheap wine the bum in the park can afford. (night train, thunderbird, wild irish rose)

... mad dog 20/20 (MD 20/20) and Boone's Farm were really popular in the early 70s as well... (S. Fla)

Not girly mixed drinks. ( ..., anything & fruit juice, ...)

Never thought of The Melon Ball as girly but more of a party-starter.

Case in point:

First company picnic... food, soda, beer, electronic-darts... basically boring.
Following year picnic... food, soda, beer, 2-gals of melon balls, wet t-shirt contest, topless dancing (male and female), happy people... ;D

ingredients:  1-part vodka, 2-parts Midori melon liqueur, OJ, ice.
