Xerox Phaser will do that.

No, I think the Xerox is a wax-based printer actually. According to those flyers they keep sending me. :-)

We have one of the older Phasers at one of our schools.  makes a nice copy but its expensive to operate.  The maintenance kit gets replaced every 40k pages.  Have problems with the control panel display too.

Don't think that 3D printing technology is mature enough yet to support wax. Current mainstream models support ABS and PLA, and some models only one of these materials.

Only 'advantage' of wax could be that the material is re-usable, but how to revert an object into threads of the correct constant thickness  :tellme:

Um... That's not strictly true. The Xerox Solid Ink printers - which are part of the Phaser series - are something referred to as wax printers due to their supplies looking much like 4 blocks of wax.

I went there too, but was also thinking it may be needed/wanted for some sort of casting operation where an internal mold piece may need to be melted out of a finished product. *Shrug* ...Just trying to get clarification on what we/re after.
