Rollback RX or Acronis ?

1. In the case of a virus will resolve rollback the issue coming back to a space without virus like Acronis does ?

2. What is the more confortable in your opinion ?

Best Regards

I'd stay far away from Rollback RX. It seems like such a good idea, on paper, but it usually breaks down sooner rather than later. I purchased a copy way back when, and it eventually forced me to format and reinstall Windows again. Other people have similar experiences. Their support is also horrid (meaning: more or less non-existing, though perhaps they've improved since I last tried it?). Personally I'm using Macrium Reflect, and couldn't be happier. As for Acronis products, I've had mixed experiences with them. Back in the XP days, their system driver was causing me some trouble (BSOD's and performance-related), so I haven't tried their products since. Many people seem happy with them though.

ToolWiz Time Machine sounds like Rollback RX but is free.  I didn't try it.  I did try ToolWiz Time Freeze.  It's on the idea of Returnil.  It's free.  It worked.  But I felt I could detect a slight performance hit.  I do think it's good to have in the toolbox even if not used all the time.

There is plenty of info on imaging utilities as Tomos noted.  I would just add that if you are running a machine with UEFI and GPT for the first time you may want to read up on the basic differences.  Stuff that worked on MBR systems may hose your system if run on GPT disks.

On my particular Windows 8.0 Laptop Macrium Reflect Free works with no contortions necessary.  But I am stuck with much larger backup images due to all the baggage that comes with GPT.

But sizes always increase so I can't really complain.

My hope is that someone gives me his opinion under a real environment.
I have the opportunity to use acronis in the portatil when change 500 GB to 1 TB disk.
No problem.
It was almost the first time i use this type of software and don't complain.

Going to read the similar experiences with Rollback

Seems a dangerous field of actions when the knowledge and luck seems go together. Perhaps is better two solutions.....

I am with everyone that is not a tool for beginners. And is not a tool without surprises.

Time Machine from Comodo was retired by buggy.
The tool GoBack from Symantic is retired....
And the rest "perhaps" don't have a good look everywhere.

So we can pay or not by this tool but sure we can use at own risk.

That's what i will do with care....
