@tsaint: Which town ?  :)
Maybe Manangatang? I was heading towards Ouyen, probably from Narrandera, en route to Adelaide.

https://goo.gl/maps/VUb5W12stP12

Must have upgraded the crossing with the fence and signal since Google Maps did their drive-by :)

Not far from Murray Sunset N.P. where all the iPhone map users got lost  ;D

BTW, if you have an Android phone I can recommend GPX Logger for keeping a track log, then on the computer you can load the track into GeoSetter and geotag your photos.

If you use google street view to go up the road (away from Ouyen) and then come back, you can see:
a. what looks like the google camera car (I don't quite understand that)
b. work being done on the fence installation.

Funny what you see in the street view. I used to just about live in singapore, but had never been to the Geylang Road area (red light district). So not so long back I thought I'd check it out using street view to see if anything looked almost familiar. As I was moving down the road, I saw a hooker on the footpath (pavement) cupping a presumptive client's genitals in her hand. His face was visible, her's wasn't.

I should take your advice re knowing where I'm taking a photo!

Ah yes, they did the Street View on the two sides of the highway on different dates: May 2008 for eastbound, Nov 2009 for westbound.  You can stand on the crossing and jump from one lane to the other to see the change.

See what you mean about the camera car, how strange.

 lovely, reminds me of a few places I know (in Ireland though).
Btw, what's the red line to the right in that one?

Went 4wding on the weekend, for those that have watched The Man From Snowy River, this is the hut used in the film:

Craig's Hut

Sagelight (Highlight and Details)

Craig's Hut isn't an original High Country Hut, it was built for the film - you can find images for others on Google.  A lot have been destroyed by bushfire, some have been rebuilt.

You can get to within 100 meters with a 4wd, (seasonal road closures notwithstanding), otherwise there's a 1200 meter walking track from a Day Visitor area on Circuit Road, (also seasonal closures).  ie. Lot's of road closures after Queens Birthday weekend because that's when snow season starts and they don't want the tracks cut up unnecessarily.

Here's a DEPI PDF info sheet.

Moroka Hut (you can park on the Moroka Rd, then it's a 350m walk):

The station and surrounding area are the site of the still-unsolved Wonnangatta murdersw which occurred in late 1917 and 1918.

It's been a while since I visited this thread. Nice to see it still going! Here's my latest from Puerto Rico, including some underwater shots! (and I went to Death Valley late last year but haven't had a chance to process those):

So much 4wheeling! Awesome. They look like fun places. I love that open fir with the "bar" (or spent bottles?) on the "mantle". :D

They're empties, except for Davies High Plains Hut - it's a refuge hut, over the doorway are a couple of bottles of water and cans of corn, green beans, tuna, etc.

re-reading the title of this thread, I realize my post here was all wrong: "Share YOUR photos". So I have deleted it.

Was home lately (Ireland) for a visit. Been meaning to go through my pics but dont seem to be getting to it. So I'll just grab a couple that look reasonably good out of camera.

Isn't that the place famously shown to house the Holy Grail in the third (and final, as far as I'm concerned!) Indiana Jones film?

Either way, I just noticed in the above photo that it seems they carved their own "ladders" into the stone to access the upper parts of it.
