Maybe but... The fact to use it as a simple client, is part of what make it great, IMHO.
No more worries about software update, harddisk failure, users tampering with the installed software, etc. Just initiate an RDP session to the server, login, and you are ready to work.

It sounds perfect.

Could also be useful for running linux - keep httpd, subversion, misc other services on it, and farm out storage to a SAN :)
