ADATA S102 64 GB USB 3.0 $5 promo ends May 1

I have the 32 GB S102 ADATA USB 3.0 so I could not resist purchasing this 64 GB version.  The price is $34.99.  The $5 promo brings it down to $29.99.  If you are in the continental US and can take advantage of the free shipping then it's quite a deal.

For me this is kind of a two-fer.  PayPal has some contest where any purchase before May 5 qualifies for $5,000 added to your PayPal balance.  I have use for the USB and at greater than 2 GB per buck, it's worth a chance.  :)

Just paste the promo code at checkout.

Go for this 256GB thumb drive:

$98 after $10 mail in rebate with this promo code: EMCPEPW86 :D

That's cheaper per GB than the 64 GB drive.

Is that the only criteria or do you have personal experience with that model?  Since I can only purchase a few sticks one of my main criteria is ruggedness under heavy conditions.  The first USB stick I bought was a Sandisk Titanium.  All the reviews were about how unbreakable it was,  It died after about a dozen connect/disconnect to/from USB port cycles.

After a couple more duds I decided to avoid "sliding guts" designs.

Edit: the read/write numbers on that drive look good.  I just wish I could see some "life test" data on these things.  When I read glowing reviews of products on Newegg or Walmart I look at the length of ownership.  It's often less than 6 weeks.  Tough to tell by that other than it worked well out of the box.  :)

That's the only criteria I was going by. Price per GB. :D

I may be a bit conservative with ADATA.  But out of 5 or so purchased I haven't had one break yet.  Even some with a light and flimsy feel to them.  With such a small sample it may just be luck though.  :)
