pretty nice graphics, really weird world (portals! PORTALS!), etc.
Carol Haynes:
Excuse my ignorance but does anyone over the age of 12 find this sort of game fun - looks pretty repetitive and boring to me. Maybe its a boy thing ...
f0dder:
Hehe, probably not very interesting at a gameplay level.
I like the pretty graphics, and the thing that intrigues me a bit about it is the appearantly heavy use of "portals" (both as a gameplay element and as an technical engine thing).
nudone:
i'll play it just to see the new ideas for all the portal stuff - otherwise it looks a bit too like quake 4 with all the neon lights.
as for it being repetitive - isn't EVERY genre under the sun until you've spent time getting to know the subtleties and nuances? not trying to defend this game or other shootemups - it certainly doesn't look as varied as half-life 2 - i just find the 'games are for kids' attitude a bit out of date these days.
i find things like classical music and opera repetitive and boring - not because they inherently are, i simply have chosen not to spend any time learning to appreciate such things as there are other types of noise i already enjoy.
other than that i think you're right about it being mainly a boy thing, Carol.
vrgrrl may be able to offer a more authoritative opinion on the subject of computer game gender preferences.
jgpaiva:
This is my style of games, but it's an interesting demo, the way this games plays with portals and gravity notions are strange. I like the part where the character gets reduced, and walks on that sort of moon.
Definitelly, a very weird game!
