Contro:
I am using Everything to search my disks under 7
I was using locate32 under xp
and are very goods program

I know some programs able to search inside binary files, but not in a pre-search or configuring a database for more fast and powerful searches.

I would like, if possible, something similar for PDF files. Pre Scanning often to control any search. Like Everything. (background indexing)

Is it possible ?(is posssssibleeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!  ;D)

Best Regards

I have examined the basic documentation of

FileHand
Is not basically portable and for me is a point to be portable. Depends upon on net de microsoft
and seems a little old....

Copernic Desktop Search ... The free version don't offer the possibilities of the paid version.

X1 Product Suite well reputated in software comparisons may be useful for biggest enterprises environtments.

Exalead from Dassault Systems. I know from this house de CAD program Draftsight . I register an account but I don't understand very well. Seems the integration of your local searchs with a web engine search. I will received information

and finally DocFetcher 1.1.8
In one web tell tha the project was stopped, but in the documentation I can read 2013 and they had a forum
Is open source
I have provisionally adopted
First thing to do is create indexes of the folders you want to scan inside PDF and many other types of files. But that is other story......

There are a lot more.
My personal opinion is that type of programs will be "devorated" by the operative systems. In fact windows 7 have a quick search option.....

there is nothing close to everything for anything that it doesn't do.  For some reason, everything got it just right.  Even the alterntatives to everything that seem very close, just don't have the right feel to them.  For pdf and indexing inside files, there also isn't anything really as fast and convenient as everything.  x1 is ok, i didn't like it too much.  all other desktop suites are just ok.  in the end, i find archivarious the best indexer for my purposes...it's pretty no nonsense, but the results aren't pretty like google, ms, or x1.  but the pretty ones are slower and have a lot of annoying things about them.

I have made two proofs with DocFetcher.
The first good and animated me to other , but then crash. But I have a forum. I have post the bug.
Now to wait.

If you know where your PDFs are (rather than needing an Everything search to find them in the first place), then check this thread: Hound: a grep-alike that searches inside PDFs
