Nerdy Data - source code search engine

(1/3) > >>

Target:
found this on I love free software this morning

http://www.ilovefreesoftware.com/04/webware/nerdydata-search-engine-to-search-download-source-code.html

claims to be a search engine specifically for source code, though it's limited to HTML, CSS, and javascript at the moment (no clue on the likelihood of the choices expanding)

Webpage says 'try it for free' but I couldn't see anything about pricing (then again, I didn't look very hard...)

wraith808:
The free account on NerdyData will allow the user to search 200 times per month and 10 results per query, with a professional account costing $99 per month, it will allow 1,200 searches and up to 5,000 results per query. Similarly, for enterprise account, it will cost $149/month, and will allow the user to search 3,000 times per month and for every query 100,000 results.

--- End quote ---

No thanks.

Target:
nor me  :o :o :o

with those prices it looks like they're going after the marketing/advertising sector rather than coders

Shades:
That is their intended audience, at least I tried the demo and when I clicked on the download button a screen popped up with 3 different subscription offers accompanied with a test that it was intended for SEO/marketers.

After grokking the content from that screen, it took 1 second to leave that page, never to return.

Target:
so, clearly run by marketers, for marketers, or in other words, it's an ad!! (the misleading title should have been a clue ;D ;D)

apologies for posting such dreck :-[
