Update Portable but keep configuration

LOVE THIS APP!!!!
I am running in portable mode and want to update to the latest version.
How can I update without losing my configuration settings?

Welcome to the site DEtrieZ.

Just unpack the new portable zip file on top of your existing directory -- the portable zip file does not contain any file that would override your current settings.
(Having said that, 99% of the time the updates have only changed the exe so most of the time you can just copy over the new exe).

I use the portable version as well and have always unpacked to a separate directory and reset all of the configuration options. This will save me some time the next version or in beta testing. One quick question for you.

What happens if there are new options added to the Preference settings that don't exist in the previous version? Do the new settings get created automatically in the .ini file the first time the new executable is run?

yes, new options will be added and set to defaults when you run the new version, nothing to worry about.
