In most of the examples given, we're still doing the same tasks, but with digital versions of it. Technology gets its revenge (see Revenge Theory) when what was designed to save you time/money actually costs you dearly.

  Oh your going to pay for it whether you buy it or not.  Look at the internet and cell phones for instance.  The U.S. government liberals got it in their mind that the internet was a basic right and started giving it away to the people that couldn't afford it.  Just the other day I saw a commercial for free cell phones for people that couldn't afford it, through a government campaign of course.  Everyone might say "that's great", but it's our tax dollars that is paying for this crap.  Here we are on the edge of the "cliff", and our government wants to give away internet service and cell phones for free......  So yeah, we all pay for it, dearly.....
