need to blur out most of system tray
jadekitten5425:
Hello, I am an amateur coder and I am making a help file for my program (the first program I will ever release publicly) and i need to blur out most of my system tray in a screenshot, both for privacy, and to draw attention to my tray icon. I am not a graphics guy. Could someone please guide me? thank you for your time.

Any good screenshot tool would probably do the job, but my Screenshot Captor program is especially adept at a variety of this kind of blurring/highlighting/hiding effect -- as well as some others like creating ragged edges, etc.
Give it a try and ask if you have any questions about how to use it to do what you want.
Ath:
This is about a screenshot made using ScreenShot Captor, right?
* After grabbing the screenshot of the part you want to show, open it in the Graphical editor
* Create a rectangle box around the section you want to hide
* Choose an effect to apply to the selection from the SpecialFX menu, like "Blur Inside Selected Region" or "Interlace Inside Selected Region"
* Save the image (best would be to set the default format to png)
See how I did my Systemtray context menu for KeepUpApp
(used a delayed, "Grab Repeat last size+pos", after first a "Grab selected Region" in the desired area)
(while I was typing, mouser already replied...:))
