Screenshots from movies

(1/1)

Sleye165:
I'm still new at using Screenshot Captor.  I have have some home movies that I am in the process of turning into DVD's.  I wanted to capture certain sceens as pics, so that I can use them to make a DVD menu.  So far I have had no success at doing this.  What happens is I end up with a black screen or the movie continues to play in the capture window.  Am I doing something wrong, or is there a block that keeps me from doing this?

mouser:
you have 2 choices:

the easiest and smartest is to use a video player which has a built in screenshot taking function.
see here -> https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=1208.0

the other option is to turn off "hardware/video acceleration" in your video player.  Both windows media player and real player have options for this, and when you turn it off (and restart) you will then be able to take screenshots.

Thanks for the help mouser

Yeah, grabbing from DirectX overlay sources isn't exactly trivial :)
