Suggestion: Stop Hiding those Licence Keys!
« on: April 20, 2006, 10:06 PM »
I am A newbie to this site, but not a total newbie, if I have a Problem, it's probable many others do too.
I have tried for 10 minutes to find the Licence Key for Find and Run.
Couldn't, but did find the useful thread saying it wouldn't have worked anyway.

Perhaps you could consider a Sticky "Newbies Navigation Guide".

In the meantime, where HAVE you hidden those licence keys?

Oh, and will you consider a donation in Chinese Yuan RMB without the aid of PayPal or credit card?
Some of us don't have the benefit of a reliable electronic money transfer system y'know.

You can find the keys here:
https://www.donation...r.com/Keys/index.php

On the left hand side of any page, there's a little blurb "Looking for a freeware license key? Click here" -- It is a bit hidden admittedly, but there you go :)

Yep, yep, yep.
Found that, bought the T shirt, ( it shrank in the 1st wash), my problem is AFTER I go on to the log in screen, I get the forum Homepage.
No mention of licence keys there.
Even tried the Mouser's software main thread, but it did me no good :(
Thanks for the speedy reply anyway, but I'm still all at sea navigating without a compass.
Now Moss grows on WHICH side of trees?

When you are signed in viewing this topic click that link Allen gave you and you shouldnt have to log in again and then you should be able to pick which program you want a key for I believe.  :)

@beanfoto2.  Welcome.  Glad to have you here.:)  Your license key was emailed to you when you signed up for the forum, along with instructions on how to use it.  Might be a good idea to check your spam folder because the address may not have been recognized.  If you don't find it, I'm sure mouser will be here soon and can make sure you get another one.  Hang in; it'll be worth it.

allen and hamradio are right -

once you are signed into the forum, visiting that page https://www.donation...r.com/Keys/index.php should let you select your license key.

you must be logged into the forum though, before you can download your license key, so if it's asking you to log in it means it's not detecting that you are already signed into the forum.

it's a bit confusing i know, we're going to try to simplify it.

feel free to contact me by email if you continue to have trouble: [email protected]

and thanks for being in such good spirits about the frustration - not everyone is :)

as for accepting donations - we accept *anything* as a donation; youll find lots of different services to use to donate here:
https://www.donation...te/DonateMethod.html
or you can send anything via postal mail (drawings, chocolate, dimaonds, postcards, etc.) to:
https://www.donation...m/About/contact.html

just let us know when something is in the mail and we will upgrade your account

momonan you are not quite right about license being sent when you sign up; a license is only emailed when people donate. non-donators must visit that page to get a license after they sign up.

Perhaps you could consider a Sticky "Newbies Navigation Guide".

this is very much needed.

two pages are meant to serve this kind of role:
first this one: https://www.donation...com/About/start.html
and fromt here at bottom right you can get to: https://www.donationcoder.com/Help/

but then it's easy to get lost.. it's so dern hard to figure out how to present so much info in a reasonable way..

The rest of this thread has been moved to the Living Room (which seems a more appropriate place for the discussion that followed ...)
