Could the speed of the search updates be variable? Recently I have been having selecting the wrong program because while my hand is in the air moving to the numeric keys, the search updates, making a different program correspond to the number I press (pressing the escape key would not help in this case!).  It would be cool to have a slider in the options (or a millisecond input box) to change how fast the the search updates.  I realize that this could become a pain since we all want things to happen as soon as possible, but I wouldnt mind being able to try different refresh speeds!  Thanks,

Kevin

i understand 100% the problem you are talking about..
perhaps an update delay (while not messing with search speed) would help.. i'm not sure.

i was trying to think of alternate solutions.. it's tricky..
one interesting idea would be.. what if each entry got added, and in its proper location, but didn't get assigned a number until after some delay (say 3 seconds)... i'm not sure if that would work..

i've changed the name of this post to fit in with new feature request threads.
any suggestions about the best way to solve this would be very welcome.
