Custom Document Opener
« on: November 12, 2012, 10:56:24 PM »
Is there any way to specify that the location of the Custom Document Opener is on the same portable drive as FARR?

Since I'm running FARR portably from a flash drive, to make use of the document opener, I have that on the flash drive as well... but I can't find a way to specify its location.

I tried using %APPDRIVE%\<PATH TO DOCUMENT OPENER> but that didn't work - FARR complains that it couldn't be found.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Actually, the same question applies for specifying a portable external file manager as well.

I haven't tested this, but have you tried specifying via a relative path?

If that's not supported, seems like it would be nice too :)

Sorry to drag up an old post, but this doesn't seem to be answered and I'm having the same problem. Anyone have an answer on this? Thanks.

Somehow i missed this post originally... I will fix it so custom document opener can be specified locally.  I'll try to get an update out in the next week.

Awesome, thanks mouser. Excellent support, time for me to send you some money, your apps are awesome and have been very helpful. Sorry on the delay getting back to this post, but I think using the syntax "\fullpathwithoutdrive" works if you want it relative to the drive FARR is on, but allowing the use variables would be a very nice addition, also in the "override default browser" and "default file explorer" would be good too, the same workaround seems to work there too. I've not had a chance to pull down the latest update to check out if this works, I'll have a crack at it over the next week or so.
