Mass Social Engineering in Forums
« on: October 30, 2012, 10:42 AM »
I just saw an interesting article/paste on mass and individual social engineering techniques (COINTELPRO actually, but 6 of 1):

http://www.globalres...ternet-forum/5309987

COINTELPRO Techniques for dilution, misdirection and control of a internet forum.

There are several techniques for the control and manipulation of a internet forum no matter what, or who is on it. We will go over each technique and demonstrate that only a minimal number of operatives can be used to eventually and effectively gain a control of a ‘uncontrolled forum.’

Do check the Pastebin link as well:

Interesting.

This is not desirable as it then leaves the enforcement agencies unable to track the percentage of those in the population who always resist attempts for control against them .

So standing up for yourself is bad.. Lovely (and rather subtle) pitch for weakness is strength there ain't it Ren?

And the best part is they are entirely just a figment of your imagination.

Though I could see this being useful in helping to stabilize some forums I am on, since it has info that would be relevant to stirring up activity on forums that are fading into oblivion.

Yes. Exactly. It's entirely about spreading disinformation. A "how to" if you will.
